Old Boys' Annual Dinner 18th August 2010

Kader Asmal, Steve Doidge and Chris Hart (WBJS Headmaster)
The 2010 Annual Dinner was yet another successful event on the Old Boys' calendar. The evening went off very well from the welcome at the front door, superb décor and an excellent menu. The atmosphere could not have been better and was matched by good food, fun and eager conversation amongst the old boys - many of whom travelled from far and wide for the annual event.
Our guest speaker, Prof Kader Asmal, kept everyone engaged with both his apt humour and profound insight. After a personal introduction from Keith Richardson, the former education leader spoke of his experience with schools as a national minister, while detailing the important role of an institution like Wynberg in the broader South African context. The occasion was indeed not only about re-uniting as Old Boys'; Wynberg's history and our role in South African society, past, present and future, came to the fore. We are reminded yet again of the privilege of being part of the Wynberg family.
Old Boys' President, Steve Doidge, kept Old Boys entertained with his humour and reflections as MC, while also taking up the opportunity to point out just a few of the many events and activities currently on at the Wynberg Old Boys' Union.
Feedback from a few Old Boys:
This truly was an event to be proud of. If you have any suggestions for next year's guest speaker, please contact Hugh Rowles .
