In what is surely a first for Wynberg, four books by Old Boys were featured during the June Book Fair at the Cape Town International Conference Centre.
An eclectic mix of content, business, politics, lifestyle and fantasy can be found between the covers:
Making Money out of Property in South Africa - Jason Lee (1992)
After the Party - Andrew Feinstein (1981)
Clouds Move - Derrick Fine (1976)
Zebra Crossings - Peter Merrington (1974)
We look forward to their future publications.

Gerald Berley (Berelowitz during his Wynberg days) wrote to us from Canada, where he is the Director of Publicity and Promotion for the Senior Citizen Games in Toronto. Gerald attached some memories of his days at the school. (Click on the thumbnails below to view the bigger pictures.) The Union and School is always grateful to receive personal photos and documents to add personal value to our digital records.
We wish Gerald all the best for his 87th birthday on 19 June.

Cape Argus, 9 June 2008
'South African-born world expert in cosmetic dentistry, Dr Howard Katz, has made headlines in the US after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) there gave the green light to his brainchild, the first drug that reverses dental anaesthesia.
Katz, a former Wynberg Boys' High School pupil now based in San Diego, and Dr Eckard Weber, founder of several biotechnology companies, are credited with OraVerse, which cuts by half the amount of time it usually takes for numbing agents to wear off.
Other than his OraVerse accomplishment, Katz is also recognised for his use of Botox in dentistry, being referred to as "Dr Botox" by the dental profession.'
