Wynberg Congratulates: Wendell Bossenger
2 August 1998:
Wendell Bossenger (1994) received the award for the Provincial Amateur Cricketer of the Year at a recent Awards Ceremony in Johannesburg.
Wendell has played for Griquas since leaving school and has captained the Province for many years. He is regarded by many as unlucky to have been a wicketkeeper in the Boucher era which has kept him from higher honours.
6 Old Boys Selected for SA Varsities Hockey Side
7 July 2008: The School joins the Union in congratulating Vaughn Erasmus, Rhett Halkett, Jonty Robinson (Tukkies), Craig Haley, Zeno Rossouw (UCT) and Malusi Siboto (North West) on their selection for the SA Varsities side at the completion of the recent Intervarsity event in Potchefstroom.
We quote here from Jonathan Cook's report on the men's final between Tukkies and the University of Johannesburg ( to be found on www.gryphonhockey.com):
" ... My man of the final, Erasmus – a constant thorn in UJ's side down the Tukkies right flank with his pace, ball control and eye for goal - and his team-mates rushed to mob each other once their supporters had finished the 10-second countdown and the final was won.
Coach Dave Viney's Tukkies under outstanding captain Rhett Halkett earned the right to be crowned the champion university team as they beat every single opponent thrown their way."

Annual Dinner Table Bookings
Guest Speaker at this year's dinner on 14 August will be Neil Crawford, former WBHS master and current Rector of Grey P.E.
